The Chlachain Inn is located in the fishing village of Mallaig, at the end of the Road to the Isles, with ferry services to the Western Isles

The Inn was built around 1900 (The name meaning - stone house) The Inn has always been a popular haunt of the local population and in 2004 underwent major refurbishment now offering something new to the area - a modern clean and bright interior.

Mallaig is a working fishing village with all the amenities of a town thrown in.
Population size is a friendly 1200 – many of whom you'll meet working in the shops and restaurants (including our own).
Much of the country's best sea food is landed here and includes the renowned Mallaig haddock, succulent prawns, mussels, scallops and fresh salmon. You can savour the taste of all of these in our bar restaurant – and why not kick start your fish eating day by having Mallaig kippers for breakfast!

Mallaig is also the ferry terminal for Caledonian MacBrayne (Calmac) services (link) to the Isle of Skye, and the small islands of Eigg, Rum, Canna and Muck. There is also a privately operated service to Inverie (Knoydart) and Tarbet with a scenic journey time of approx 45 minutes.
