We are, a Police Officer, a British Transport Special constable, 2 Fire-fighters, a Paramedic, a Lifeboat Coxswain, an HM Coastguard Officer, and an Ex. Member of the Armed services, who have come together sickened by death tolls on Britain 's roads.

These family men are committed to help reduce deaths on our roads.

The group are about to embark on:

The Great East European Challenge 2006

Mallaig Motorcycle Club, known as The Deer Shunters, is made up of ordinary family men who are involved in supporting the kids Trials Club in our village.

Called The Deer Shunters to remind ourselves and visitors of the dangers of the Highland Deer on our Highland roads.

We would like Sunday 18th June 2006 will be known as SAFER BIKING DAY , when it is hoped that the entire country will gather to pay their respects to all those who have been touched by tragedy on our roads.

We ask motorcyclists to attach a small piece of RED cloth to their bike and, if out on their motorcycles on Sunday 18th June 2006 , to ride in dignified quiet reflection paying their respects to those fellow motorbike riders who have lost their lives on our roads.

We depart on 13th June 2006 and will visit 9 European countries in 14 days, visiting orphanages and speaking to Save the Children volunteers to highlight the good work being done by them and the work that is still to be done in order to improve the lives of impoverished children.

With your help we hope to raise thousands of pounds for Save the Children.

Sunday 18/06/06 will be Day 6 of the Challenge, our 4th day into Europe , a day when we again ask the country to support Safer Biking Day and reflect on its driving habits to become a more tolerant nation and realize that many deaths on our roads could have been avoided.

We will be doing this in our own time, at our own expense and on our own motorbikes.

Please pass on our website address to as many people as you possibly can to maximize the publicity and help us gain as much support as possible in the run up to our Challenge.

BBC Really Wild Show presenter Terry Nutkins will be there to see us off together with, we hope, other celebrities and people committed to road safety.

By working together we will make a difference and cut down on the number of deaths on our roads.

Please show your support by logging on to:

www.justgiving.com/mallaigdeershunters or make cheques payable to Save The Children and forward to Mallaig Deer Shunters c/o Spring Bank, East Bay, Mallaig.

Every penny will go to Saving Children, no admin. or expenses will be taken out.

Thank You
